After many years working with Shorthorn, Polled Hereford, Gelbvieh, and Black Angus cattle, the two joined forces in 2008 to form Remitall Farms Inc.  Richard LatimerRichard Latimer has been a big part of the Remitall success story, right from the time he started, trying to juggle 4-H and hockey. He managed to have 4-H champions and Canadian Junior Hereford champions as well as making many long-lasting friendships in the cattle business. Richard's accomplishments have been many, as he has prepared and shown many cattle for the showring for shows at the Olds Fair, FarmFair, Agribition, Royal Winter Fair, and the Denver National Stock Show. In fact, he has prepared two Denver National Grand Champions two years in a row! While preparing these champions, Richard was going to university and playing NCAA hockey in Fairbanks, Alaska. Richard has been in charge of Remitall's show division, while also heading up the AI breeding and all the embryo transplanting. Richard has a natural eye for being able to select and put the right cattle together. Richard is known around the world for his eye for cattle in Polled Herefords, Gelbvieh, and Angus. Richard has judged many 4-H shows and the FarmFair Supreme Show, and has been travelling and selecting cattle for Remitall Farms. If you would like to know anything about cattle, you should ask Richard. He and his wife, Kelly, have two children. |

Gary is known around the world for his Polled Herefords, but has continuously raised Black Angus since 1977. The family held two dispersal sales in the fall of 2008 - the largest two sales in Canada! The Hereford Sale included 651 lots averaging $3,759 - one bull sold for $260,000! The Angus Sale included 639 lots and averaged $2,448. We are currently in the process of rebuilding the Angus herd under the name, Remitall Farms. Gary has always strived to produce the very best cattle that suit a wide range of growing conditions and markets. He believes in promoting the breeding program in order to grow markets. Each year, Remitall hosted three well-known production sales in the past, and have shown both Angus and Polled Herefords at the Olds Fair, FarmFair, Agribition, Royal Winter Fair, the Denver National Stock Show, and this year, at the World Angus Forum at Spruce Meadows. Some of our embryos that were sold to Uruguay, recently won Heifer Calf Champion and Reserve Bull Calf Champion for Pablo Zerbino, Rbia. Baltasar Bram, Montevideo, Uruguay. Gary has judged numerous livestock shows in England, Denmark, Brazil, United States, and across Canada. He has also sat on the boards of the Alberta Hereford Association, Canadian Gelbvieh Association, Olds Agricultural Society, and currently serves as a Director with the Canadian Angus Association. Gary and his wife, Jacci, have four children and eight grandchildren. |
